This iPhone 6 was sent here for no image & no back light with almost zero signs of physical damage. I narrow the fault down to a single shorted capacitor. Tools used in this repair are linked below.

I realize JBC hot air stations are $1500 and up and not $4k. A slight exaggeration. 🙂 Also, everything I say in this video comes out inverted and wrong but that is merely the supernatural effects of switching on a recorder. Just mute the sound. Enjoy =)

This is the iFixit article I spoke of:

Thank you Julia Bluff!! I will be publicly thanking you on camera very soon! You including us in that article was a publicity catapult and I am forever grateful!

For your search box popping up off the screen you can also try draging your taskbar to the top of the screen and back. (make sure you unlock the taskbar first) The search box should snap to below where the taskbar was, might be quicker then your blind keystrokes…

I'm still using $60 hot air station and it's fine.

Leon Stacey says:

Haha, you mentioned your $129 hot air station, you wanna hear Jessa in one of her movies talking about her JBC compared with a quick 861. I used to use a Hakko FR 810, but it takes so long to heat up. I bought a quick 861 DA and it is at 370 deg c in about 5 seconds, best hot air I have ever bought.

Matias Juarez says:

thanks you for sharing your job Sheldon Cooper 🙂 kkeep it up

bobspurloc says:

good job! So did you fix the broken loose shield? lol. and what about the component you thought someone touched with a tool at the beginning? $130 for hot air, I just may get that now.

Jason, so you power micro pencil and mini hot tweezers with fx951?
