You should make video to show the two ways one with hole thru middle and
one with the soldering ..just a suggestion

I think the battery protection is a small click stat that opens at a
certain temp but dosn’t reset. Removal or shorting of this device removes
the protection it affords please be careful to warm people of the dangers.
Just as a suggestion if a small hole is drilled just through the positive
terminal a wire can then be inserted to bypass the protection device and
limit the damage caused to the cell insulation.
