GREAT comment from Mattrules77:
Great video man just saved me £230 that apple wanted to replace my phone. I was worried at first because although my phone now seemed to charge it didn’t turn on, however after 20 minutes it booted up( was dead for 5 days). If anyone has a problem with the microphone (this may be obvious but something I noticed) with the part I ordered the little rubber cover wasn’t on and so I had to take it off the old part otherwise it doesn’t slot in correctly and probably doesn’t function.

If your charging port goes out on your iPhone 5 it is a pretty easy fix. Replacing your charging port will some times even fix your phone after it has been water damaged. Remember to go slow and be very careful. This is a 500 dollar device. If you have applecare or are still under warranty you should probably try those options first.

This video shows how to replace the Charging port, the Head Phone jack, and the Mic for the iPhone five. If you have any questions be sure to leave them in the comments,. LIKE this video if it helped you! And don’t forget to subscribe!

Man, I wanna thank you, because of your video I was able to fix my phone
spending like a few bucks, if I gave it to a repair shop they wanted to
charge 200 dollars here in my country. thank you so much.

Rancho de la Letra B says:

Thanks this is the best video on youtube. how to repair the problem
charging iphone 5 🙂 .. thanks for the links.
-I’m glad that people help others.

Jone Nascimento says:

From all videos that I watched this is the best one I’ve find, the light
isn’t very good but is so well explained that it doesn’t matter.

Andzrej Warner says:

Great video but too dark at times

Zeshan Habib says:

Please reply to me, I literally am begging you for a reply please? I bought
a iPhone 5 second hand the other day. It came with a non genuine USB cable,
The USB cable is so annoying, it takes me like an hour to get the phone to
charge (constantly fiddling with it because it says “Accessory not
supported”). I am ordering a genuine wall plug and genuine lightning USB
cable today. If that doesn’t work, do you reckon this will fix my problem?

beat13isnowhere says:

fixed! many thanks

Andrew Imrie says:

Excellent job! Easy to follow and works perfectly. Just saved £200+ so
happy days!! Thanks!

Jeroen Kneppers says:

Thanks, managed to fix my phone in under 30 minutes for 1/3 of the money I
would have had to pay at a local repairshop. Even for Iphone 5S users, this
comes in handy! Biggest difference is the connector for the biometric home
button, which you can release by unhinging the metal part, rest is pretty
similar.

h8ncars says:

Great vid thanks I have to do this once the new piece comes. I would also
recommend taping the price of paper down. When I did the speaker
replacement a few months ago. I bumped the paper, and the screws got all
mixed up. Luckily I took a photo of everything as I went.

Ben Harris says:

Thanks a lot!, your guide is so much easier than all the others. Got my
phone fixed and all in one piece!

nstwtf says:

Thx! can finally charge my iphone5 normally again. Was crossing my fingers
after I finished and was ready to test. Success!

replaced my phone’s battery 2 weeks ago and my phone is like brand new it
charges quickly and my battery last so much longer.
Your videos save me and my family so much money.

THank you

Jimmy McGorty says:

Hi I was able to get in there and replace my charging port just fine and it
seems to be charging. I am having one problem though my iphone seems to be
just shutting off for no reason and turning back on, any idea on what i can
do?

Eric Hintz says:

Awesome! Thanks for the save! I had to make sure everything was set in
properly a few times… but in the end worked! Rock on!

Doug Humphreys says:

about 2 weeks ago I replaced my battery in my iphone 5. After installing
the battery it died in about 1 hour and i was not able to recharge it. The
battery signal was still showing anytime I tried to turn the phone on so i
ordered a replacement dock connector. I installed it today and now the
phone does not show anything on the screen. What do you think is the next
step

Mike Abbott says:

Great video! Thanks! One question I have though. Does the microphone go
back in a certain way, everyone i talk to on the phone after replacing the
port says I sound muffled and statics.

gautama murcho says:

Hi JerryRigEverything,

http://www.repairsuniverse.com/iphone-complete-repair-tool-kit.html
Would you also recommend this repair kit? It’s substantially cheaper, but
is it lacking any necessities?

Jovani Garcia says:

What exactly do you mean by the “rubber boot”? Sorry if it’s a dumb
question, I just wasn’t really clear on what that part was, but you
mentioned transferring it from the old one to the new one right?

Alberto Villalpando says:

Amazing Vid! Thanks so much. Saved me

Anil kumar reddy says:

“Make sure you swap the little ‘rubber boot’……….” Can u please
explain me what does this exactly mean?

VT808 says:

I hate you ifixit.com!!! This was so much easier.

Infiniti White says:

1gap says:

Thank you for this amazing tutorial.

james2087 says:

longer than the original one)and i tried to replace it.. it was charging,
but the speaker , mic are not working.. i tried many times double checking
if the connections are properly placed.. but still not working.. so i place
