Scotty Kilmer, mechanic for the last 46 years, shows how to fix a car’s computer system that’s keeping the engine from starting up and running. Once you know what you’re looking for, the fix is often less complex than you think.

Hey Scotty I'm a new subscriber

I have a 2002 Dodge Durango and my check gauge light came on I took it to AutoZone for them to check & see what it could be.it said the pcm computer…
My question is if it had another problem the tester would have said right?
Like if it had a bad transmission or engine?
But since that was only thing it was reading that's my only problem? (the pcm computer)?

I also bought a CV axle and I'm about to put that on Real soon…
Thanks Scotty please reply good bless

Hey Scotty, I have a 94 C4 Corvette. While driving the car suddenly shuts off. I sometimes have to wait 3-5 min before trying to restart to get it to kick back over. I've noticed some electrical issues within the car like the door switches moving by themselves as well as door is open light constantly coming on. Could this just be a bad computer that can just simply be replaced. I know the fuel pump works through the computer and if it malfunctions, could cut off the fuel supply to the engine. Replaced Radiator, Water Pump, Opti Spark, Spark Plugs, Fuel Pump and Battery. I appreciate all the help cause I put thousands into my corvette already and it runs good otherwise.

Hi Scotty, am looking at buying a car 2006 holden commodore omega but it has a light coming on when starting up, the seller has seen a mechanic, said it is an easy fix, usually when it is easy , it usually is not.. apparently its a typical VE computer problem ..I am based in Australia.
